Imagine a room where nothing is expected of you.

You enter the old school hall at New Bahru. The familiar space feels different. Soft, ambient sounds drift through the room. Warm light catches the edges of a landscape of mattresses, loosely arranged across the tiled floor. A subtle scent hangs in the air.

There's no rush. No agenda. Nowhere else you need to be.

You find your place, lie back and settle in. The sounds of the room begin to shift. Live gongs and acoustic instruments slowly fill the space, their vibrations moving through the air as the outside world begins to fade.

Around you, others are doing the same. Resting, listening, drifting. Together, but entirely in their own experience.

For the next hour, or perhaps two, there's nothing to achieve. Nothing to follow. Nothing to do.

Just rest.

Welcome to The Resting Room.

  • A Heveya mattress on a wooden bed frame, dressed with a quilted topper and four Heveya pillows.
  • A woman stretching on a Heveya mat on the wooden floor of an open pavilion, palms beyond the railing.
  • A woman and a boy playing on a Heveya mattress set out on the grass of a highland farm, loose latex scattered around them and a donkey grazing at the edge of the frame.
  • A woman sitting up in a Heveya bed made up on an open lawn, holding a pillow, mountains and cypress trees behind her.
  • A woman sitting on the edge of a bed dressed in dusty pink linen, in a brick-walled room with tall plants and a paper lantern overhead.
  • The corner of a Heveya Cloud bed close up, showing the layers stacked: the quilted down topper, the mattress beneath it and two ventilation bands along the side.

A space to do less. Together.

The Resting Room is a collective sound and rest experience presented by Future Resonance × Heveya, transforming the iconic New Bahru School Hall into an atmospheric landscape of mattresses, live sound and soft light.

Created as an invitation to slow down, the experience brings people together to rest in a shared space, away from the demands of everyday life.

Settle into a mattress, close your eyes and allow the sounds of live gongs and acoustic instruments to shape your journey. Choose from a one-hour Acoustic Sound Healing session or a two-hour Deep Rest & Sound experience.

No experience necessary. Just arrive, lie down and rest.

  • The School Hall doors standing open, warm light spilling out, the dressed floor and the gongs visible at the far end.
  • The hall in the evening, lit amber from the walls, candles set among the mattresses.

Deep Rest & Sound

120 minutes dedicated entirely to rest

Our signature Resting Room experience combines guided deep rest with an extended live acoustic sound journey.

Beginning with gentle guidance to help you settle, the experience gradually transitions into an immersive soundscape of gongs and resonant instruments. With time and space to completely switch off, you're invited to surrender to stillness, drift between wakefulness and sleep, and experience rest without expectation.

A longer, slower journey for those seeking a deeper escape from the demands of everyday life.

Suitable for anyone looking for an extended, immersive rest experience. No previous experience required.

What is a sound session?

Everything you hear is played live, in the room, on acoustic instruments: gongs, singing bowls, chimes and drums. There is no recording and no playlist. Two sessions never sound the same.

Large gongs carry a lot of low frequency, so a sound session is as much felt as heard. Lying on the floor, you notice it in your chest and in the backs of your hands before you notice it as a note.

You are not an audience and you are not in a class. Nobody demonstrates anything and there is nothing to follow, repeat or get right. You lie down, you close your eyes if you want to, and the sound does the work.

Most people drift. Some fall asleep. Both are fine. Neither is the point, because there isn't one.

Which one?

Both run in the same room, with the same instruments, and neither needs any experience. Acoustic Sound Healing is 60 minutes and unguided. It is the shorter way in, and the easier one to fit into a day. Deep Rest & Sound is 120 minutes, begins with guidance to help you settle, and gives you long enough to properly stop. If you are not sure, the 60-minute session is the one to start with.
